Each year, a process
is undertaken to select a new School Captain of Ubobo State School. Prospective
leaders submit an application to the Committee (Principal and Teacher Aide)
addressing the selection criteria. This criteria includes current involvement
in the school and community, leadership qualities, personal qualities,
addressing the school rules, making a difference at Ubobo State School.
Students then participate in an interview process, before the School Captain is
announced at the beginning of the school year.

The Ubobo State
School Project Club is a long-running group, run by students for students. The
Project Club fundraises by way of market stalls, election stalls, tennis
tournaments, free dress days etc. Funds are generated both for not-for-profit
groups in need and to benefit the students. In the past, the Project Club has
contributed to the cost of school camps and has purchased items for the school
(school marquee, cold water bubbler, table tennis table etc).
The Project Club
also aims to help in the community. In the past, this has included helping the
Ubobo State School P&C at fundraisers, and volunteering in the community.
Recent volunteering has seen the Project Club paint the timber surround to the
Christmas pine tree at the Boyne Valley Lions Club den.
